Ensuring the security and safety of a car park, without compromising its design integrity, has always posed a dilemma for architects. Several considerations have to be taken into account and weighed against each other – including safety, air-flow, transparency, longevity, maintenance and aesthetics. Inevitably, this has always led to compromises having to be made. Until now that is.
With the introduction of Webnet from Jakob, architects and designers are discovering that they can now meet all these seemingly conflicting requirements. In particular, car park openings can be fully-enclosed with no detriment either to air-flow (vital for the extraction of exhaust fumes) or aesthetics.
And as Webnet is manufactured from 316 stainless steel, neither durability nor longevity need to be compromised either.
As the UK’s sole agent for the Jakob Webnet system, MMA Architectural Systems has already completed a number of new-build and refurbishment car park projects, installing Webnet as a highly-effective anti-suicide and fall-protection system.
